KATT D’AMBROSIO
Captured by the nine muses since the age of 5, Katt D’Ambrosio has delved into virtually every aspect of the performing arts from music, dance, playwriting, to composing music, directing, and filmmaking. Katt holds a B.A. degree in music theory/voice performance from Temple University.
Regarding theatre, the two roles she enjoyed playing most were Rose Alvarez in Bye Bye Birdie and Queen Aggravain in Once Upon A Mattress. Although Ms. D’Ambrosio enjoys acting on stage, she is passionate about film. Katt has also written and directed three of her own films, one of which entitled, “What Is Your Bliss?”, was aired on various PBS stations throughout the United States during a four year period, and also won an award in the category of short films at the first New Hope Film Festival.
She has performed in cabarets at such venues as Odette’s, (of the past), in New Hope, and also presented a one-woman show at the former Tavern On Camac in Philadelphia. She is presently working as a singer at private parties and various venues/restaurants throughout the Delaware Valley. Over the years Katt has sung in area establishments in Philadelphia, and Bucks County such as Bowman’s Tavern on River Road, the Mermaid Inn on the Main Line, the 23rd Street Jazz Café, and the ever-popular Ortlieb’s Jazz Haus in Philly. Other performing venues include Hibachi Steakhouse on Penns Landing, Arirang Japanese Steakhouse & Bistro in Langhorne, Mt. Fuji in Newton, PA, ZOUBI’s in New Hope, and The Kelch House in Bristol, PA, La Cena in Bensalem, Piccola Trattoria in Pennington, NJ, and Terra Nova in South Jersey, The Stockton Inn and many, many more.
Katt has worked with many accomplished, and well-known jazz musicians such as pianists, Tom Lawton, Scott Gurney, John D’Amico, Aaron Graves, Sid Simmons, Don Wilson, Barry Sames, Dave Posmontier, Tom Adams, Paul Pelusi, Mike Frank and Frank Strauss along with other instrumentalists including guitarist, Bill Schilling, bassists, Dylan Taylor, Jason Fraticelli, Mike Boone, Paul Gehman Steve Varner, and Steve Bescrone, saxophonist Larry McKenna and drummers, Rob Henderson, Grant McAvoy, Dan Monaghan, and Gusten Rudolph.
Last, but not least, Katt enjoys her daily job teaching piano, music theory, and voice, to her wonderful students throughout the Philadelphia area, and Bucks County along with one of her favorite jobs performing in various “over 55” communities, travel clubs, and many cities and suburban retirement villages. You can currently catch Ms. D’Ambrosio at either Hibachi on Penns Landing, Phila., PA, twice a month in a jazz duo, Arirang Japanese Steakhouse, once a month with her trio, and Ottsville Inn in as a solo act at various times during each month.
